Uptown House is a great old house located at 1344 Summit Avenue in St. Paul where AA and Al-Anon meetings are held every day.
Because AA groups do not own property, the Uptown founders in 1975 formed the non-profit corporation Uptown Foundation, Inc. This foundation purchased the house and is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of it for the sole purpose of providing space for AA meetings.
A second non-profit corporation named Uptown Group, Inc. was formed to manage the many AA meetings held at the house. The bylaws of Uptown Group created a steering board to foster and control the activities of the house’s many AA groups or squads, as well as the Al-Anon and Alateen groups. You can reach the steering board by email at firstname.lastname@example.org), or leave a paper message in the office (by front door) at Uptown House.
A list of meetings available at Uptown House is located under the Meeting Schedules menu link on this site. A full list of meetings in the Saint Paul area is available from Saint Paul Intergroup. You may also call (651) 227-5502 to reach Intergroup 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The operator can help you find meetings, answer questions or just help you connect with another alcoholic any time you need.
